Food Strategy Associates provided commercial due diligence of a wine distributor for a private equity client
The target markets and distributes a range of wine varietals sourced from producers around the world. They operate predominantly in UK off-trade and export and supply both private label and branded products.
We were appointed by a private equity client participating in the process to provide commercial due diligence. We reviewed the IM, VDD and the data room material and attended management presentations.
We analysed scan data, interviewed employees, conducted competitor analysis and reviewed customer interviews to assess how defensible and sustainable the target’s market position was.
We examined margins and conducted what-if situation analysis surrounding Brexit and tariff changes. We also developed a view on the new product development pipeline and success.
